Vacuum Elevators in Australia
Innovative air-driven lifts with a distinctive transparent cylindrical design. No shaft, no pit, no machine room — just air pressure.
How Vacuum Elevators Work
Pneumatic vacuum elevators (PVE) use air pressure differentials to move the cabin. A turbine at the top of the tube creates a partial vacuum above the cabin, and atmospheric pressure below pushes it upward. To descend, air is slowly released above the cabin, allowing controlled gravity descent.
The lift consists of a transparent polycarbonate tube that acts as both the shaft and the cabin enclosure. The system is entirely self-supporting — it doesn't need a pit, machine room, or any structural shaft construction.
Because descent uses gravity with controlled airflow, vacuum elevators use zero energy going down. They only consume power on the way up.
